About Us
Shrewsbury in Bloom is a non-profit organisation which brings together interested groups and individuals to discuss and implement a programme for Shrewsbury’s floral enhancement, environmental improvements and community projects.It is the driving force behind Shrewsbury’s annual entry into the Heart of England in Bloom competition.
In 2025 Shrewsbury competed in the Britain in Bloom UK Finals awards after being awarded winner of the Small City winner at the Heart of England in Bloom the previous year. Shrewsbury achieved three awards at the Heart of England in Bloom awards on the 21st October including a gold award in the Small City/City category and the Mike Garwood Memorial Trophy, which was presented to Shrewsbury in Bloom for the efforts of the team managing The Dingle in 2025. At the Britain in Bloom awards the following week, Shrewsbury achieved an RHS Gold award in the Small City/City category which was won by Aberdeen in Communities. Shrewsbury in Bloom will enter in which the town has repeatedly won Gold for its floral excellence. Shrewsbury in Bloom will compete in Heart of England in Bloom once again in 2026
The committee is made up of residents and representatives from local businesses, organisations, Shrewsbury Town Council and Shropshire Council. It is headed by Stuart Farmer, Chairman of Shrewsbury in Bloom.
Officer support is provided by Shrewsbury Town Council in the form of administrative duties. The council’s ground maintenance team also carry out horticultural work on behalf of the Working Group.
Shrewsbury in Bloom has previously generated income from actively marketing and promoting floral sponsorship around the town. Our 2026/27 sponsorship options will be announced very soon.
